Italian Heritage Parade & Festa: What to Expect

Every October, The Hill marks its Italian roots with a parade from Botanical & Macklind and a festa in Berra Park. Here’s what to expect.

Italian Heritage Parade & Festa: What to Expect

The Italian Heritage Parade & Festa is The Hill’s biggest neighborhood celebration. The Hill 2000 Neighborhood Association organizes it, and local media covering the 2025 event called it the 158th annual parade.

When it happens

The parade is held on a Sunday in mid-October. Recent dates were October 13, 2024, October 12, 2025, and October 11, 2026. The 2025 and 2026 editions both ran from 12:30 to 5:00 pm. Dates for 2027 had not been announced as of October 2026.

What to expect

  • The parade: it starts at Botanical and Macklind avenues, winds through the neighborhood’s streets and ends at Berra Park. Organizers invite Italian American families to march and honor the people who built the neighborhood.
  • The Festa: after the parade, Berra Park fills with food and drinks from Hill restaurants, live music, and games and activities for all ages.

Tips

Come early for a curbside spot along the route, and plan to stay for the afternoon in the park. Watch the Hill 2000 events calendar in late summer for the 2027 date and parade entry forms.
