About

Italian Heritage Parade & Festa

The Italian Heritage Parade & Festa is a long-running annual celebration of The Hill’s Italian-American community, hosted by the Hill 2000 neighborhood association. It is typically held on a Sunday in October, with festivities centered on Berra Park.

The day combines a parade through the neighborhood with an all-day festa: food and drink from local vendors and restaurants, games, music and other vendors. Local TV coverage of the 2024 edition reported thousands of attendees.

The event celebrates a neighborhood settled by Italian immigrants beginning in the 1880s, many of whom came to work in the nearby clay mines and went on to open the grocers, bakeries and restaurants The Hill is known for. Check the Hill 2000 website or social channels for the current year’s date and parade time.
