About

Marconi Mercato

Marconi Mercato opened in November 2024 at the corner of Marconi and Wilson, in the historic building that was the original home of Amighetti’s. The owners are chef Carlos Hernandez, Joe Smugala and Brian McBride. Hernandez and Smugala also run Collina Eatery and El Milagro Azteca, and Hernandez was recently named Chef of the Year by the Missouri Restaurant Association.

The front market sells Italian pantry staples, local and dried pastas, cheeses, bread from local bakeries, gelato, a butcher counter, a coffee bar and grab-and-go breakfast items. Past the market are a bar room and a full-service dining room. The menu focuses on cicchetti, or Italian small plates, along with pastas such as bucatini cacio e pepe, branzino piccata, steaks, paninis and burgers.

The market opens early every day, and the restaurant and bar serve from 11am into the evening. Reservations and online ordering are available.
