Northern Italian trattoria known for osso buco and breadsticks

Lorenzo’s Trattoria bills itself as the only Northern Italian restaurant on The Hill. Owner Larry Fuse grew up in the neighborhood and still lives there. Chef Brad Burns runs the kitchen.
The kitchen makes most of its food in-house and leans toward the cream-based sauces and braises of northern Italy. KSDK singled out the veal osso buco, braised for about seven hours. The house breadsticks are popular enough that the St. Louis Post-Dispatch asked for the recipe. The menu also offers pastas, meatballs, steaks and desserts, alongside a dedicated wine list.
Lorenzo’s is a dinner-only restaurant, open from 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and closed Mondays. Reservations can be made through the restaurant’s website. Takeout is available through its online store and Uber Eats, and gift certificates are sold online.
