Southern Italian dinner spot on Daggett, under new owners since 2025

Gian-Tony’s is a Southern Italian restaurant that Tony Catarinicchia opened on The Hill in September 1989 and ran for more than three decades with his wife, Eva. After Tony announced his retirement, Joe Bergfeld bought the restaurant, land and building on December 1, 2025, and his son Dominic manages day-to-day operations. Tony stayed on as a consultant to train the new owners on his recipes, which were part of the sale.
The menu covers pasta, veal, chicken, seafood and hand-cut steaks, and chicken spiedini and homemade tiramisu are among the dishes regulars ask for. The new owners have said they plan a smaller, more focused menu but intend to keep the fan favorites and the longtime staff.
Gian-Tony’s serves dinner Wednesday through Sunday with dine-in, curbside and carry-out, and reservations can be made through OpenTable. Plans announced in January 2026 call for renaming the restaurant Fiore’s on the Hill and refreshing the space, including a backyard patio.
