House-made gelato in dozens of flavors, plus espresso and pastries

Gelato di Riso is a gelato shop and café on Wilson Avenue, the original location of a small business that added a second shop in downtown Kirkwood. Owner Larry Fuse also owns Lorenzo’s Trattoria on The Hill, and the gelato is made in-house daily and supplied to some area restaurants.
The case rotates through more than 20 flavors at a time, split between milk-based gelato (bacio, pistachio, stracciatella, tiramisu, cannoli, salted caramel) and dairy-free fruit sorbetti such as blood orange, lemon and forest fruits. The Hill shop also keeps sugar-free chocolate and raspberry. Pints and quarts are available to go.
The café side serves espresso drinks, affogato, Italian sodas and baked goods including cannoli, biscotti, scones and gooey butter bars. Flavors change daily, so call ahead for a specific one. Posted hours on the website are inconsistent, so confirm before visiting.
